Role Overview
This Accounts Manager position demands a seasoned professional with demonstrable team leadership experience. You will be responsible for managing a team of accounting professionals, driving performance, and ensuring exceptional client service while maintaining rigorous technical standards.
Accounts Manager Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a team of accounting professionals
- Directly supervise and mentor junior and mid-level team members
- Manage team performance, workflow, and professional development
- Oversee client portfolios to ensure compliance with tax and accounting regulations
- Serve as primary point of contact for complex client communications
- Prepare and review sophisticated financial statements for various business structures
- Generate advanced tax computations and corporate and personal tax returns
- Review and validate VAT return preparations
- File complex documentation with HMRC and Companies House
- Provide strategic business set-up services and registrations
- Deliver high-level business advice to optimise tax efficiency and profitability
- Identify and develop opportunities for additional service provisions
- Support partners and directors with specialist assignments
Accounts Manager Requirements:
- AAT or ACA/ACCA qualification with substantial professional experience
- Proven track record of team management and professional development
- Extensive experience in accounts preparation for limited and unincorporated businesses
- Advanced expertise in tax computation and return preparation
- Agriculture sector experience highly desirable
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills
- Outstanding interpersonal and relationship management abilities
- Highly organised with meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead team performance
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and accounting software
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities
